A pirate's love

The blinding sunset in your eyes,
The spray of the sea against your skin,
The sense of freedom in your wings,
The feeling that you finally belong, deep within.

Free from the chains that bind your body,
Free from the words that bind your heart's desire,
Free from the duties that bind your very soul,
Free from the punishments and gun fire.

On the sea, where we take refuge,
Where you can roam to your heart's desire,
Like another worldly experience,
However, we also have consequences that are all so dire.

The dangers are different,
Death comes in strange forms,
Trust no one that's just like you,
Lest be prepared to face the storm.

She is our love, our home and our own,
The sea, the ever-raging tempest,
Untamed and ruthless,
Though others deny it, we agree, that she rules the rest.

The sea giveth life,
Which she can taketh back,
Be on your toes, respect thy majesty,
And maybe you won't end up in the depths so black.
