Food for thought

Of all the things that were meant to be,
What if they weren't?
If fish to swim high in the sky,
And birds fly down below.

The days would turn like a hamster wheel,
Back and forth it would rock,
If you could live each day with a different start,
Our loved ones would never have to part.

If food were as common as grass and moss,
Growing off trees like parasites,
If water was the morning light that floods the dawn,
And the sea of air which land floats.

What if things that weren't to be,
Were what we are?
Animals that run its wheel smaller and smaller,
That throws food into a fire.

That hit one another with stones and boulders,
And tumble into naught but oblivion,
That worship ancient shiny rocks,
And numbers that burst from two to a kazillion.

That creates evil and uses it against each other in the name of good,
That sheds its own blood for pride and glory,
Thats willing to destroy himself to obtain what he creates,
That freely picks his own dictator to bring him ruin.

If this madness is our sanity,
Then when CAN we be insane?
When can we make whats not to be, to be,
If it wasn't but it was?
And when can we make whats possible to be IMPOSSIBLE,
When everything's but in our heads?
