Food for thought

Of all the things that were meant to be,
What if they weren't?
If fish to swim high in the sky,
And birds fly down below.

The days would turn like a hamster wheel,
Back and forth it would rock,
If you could live each day with a different start,
Our loved ones would never have to part.

If food were as common as grass and moss,
Growing off trees like parasites,
If water was the morning light that floods the dawn,
And the sea of air which land floats.

What if things that weren't to be,
Were what we are?
Animals that run its wheel smaller and smaller,
That throws food into a fire.

That hit one another with stones and boulders,
And tumble into naught but oblivion,
That worship ancient shiny rocks,
And numbers that burst from two to a kazillion.

That creates evil and uses it against each other in the name of good,
That sheds its own blood for pride and glory,
Thats willing to destroy himself to obtain what he creates,
That freely picks his own dictator to bring him ruin.

If this madness is our sanity,
Then when CAN we be insane?
When can we make whats not to be, to be,
If it wasn't but it was?
And when can we make whats possible to be IMPOSSIBLE,
When everything's but in our heads?

After the Jabberwocky's death

The Vorpal sword swings swift and true,
Its age old foe it sought,
Snicker-snack went the blade,
Gushing out blood so black.

Insidious ruin, or as its called,
A mere remnant of what it was,
What it would have been if it wasn't,
And would be if it was.

And what it wasn't, because it is,
Would be ruby red so clear,
Instead of gooey black and sticky ends,
Which all of Wonderland did fear.

The blood runs thick, it spread around,
Engulfing everything in sight,
What have you done, Alice my dear?
When so mighty a beast have you striked.

She left it dead, off with its head,
Or so the story goes,
It did not say anything about the corruption it brought,
When such great danger it did pose.

It ran through the rivers, destroyed all life,
What become of the land?
Earthquakes here, volcanoes there,
On which we could hardly stand.

Everyone's mad, bonkers, insane,
In this land of wonder,
The queen had caught the Jubjub bird,
Which gives one much to ponder.

The efforts used for this monstrous creature,
Were doubled for the Bandersnatch,
Why would she go to such ridiculous lengths,
For jaws that bite and claws that catch?

Strike terror in their hearts, she did,
With jaws and claws did twice the damage,
The queen so red, ruled the land,
With an iron fist did she release her rage.

Oh Alice, go redeem yourself,
Slay the red queen as well,
With a grip so tight on Wonderland,
The things she had done, I could never tell.

Monstirmae (Parody of Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll)

Twas twilight that brought the morning chill,
Did prey alike cower together,
All shaky were the late water reeds,
And the moths that run from cruel weather.

"Beware the Monstirmae, oh young one,
The sharpest tongue and fake persona,
Beware her foul minions and do shun,
Her sharpened heart snatching claws.

He took his broken heart in hand,
Long time had he loved but now had sought,
So rested he by the tall oak tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in midthought, there he stood,
The Monstirmae with eyes of hate.
Came stomping through the silent wood,
And snarled as she came.

One two! one two! And through and through,
His wounded heart went snicker-snack!
He left hers dead, off with her imbecilic head,
He went triumphantly back.

"And, has thou slain the monster's heart?
Come to MY arms, my beamish boy!
O happy days! Hurrah! Hurray!"
He chortled in his new found joy.

Twas twilight that brought the morning chill,
Did prey alike cower together,
All shaky were the late water reeds,
And the moths that run from cruel weather.

Day and Night

Of all the days we live and such,
The mornings are all a blur,
With baby blue hems with pretty white lace,
Which is blown away when the wind stirs.

The day is fickle, her and her gowns,
Which changes as her moods sweeten and sour,
From purples to blues to greys to reds,
Dost she toss around.

She twirls and turns around the room,
Until her round faced sister takes the stage,
Only one dress hath she to offer,
But infinitely more beautiful than her sister, Day.

Embedded with sparkly things,
Layers of translucent material hang from her sleeves,
That helped time and time again to cover her face,
When that happens, all fall asleep to the silent lullaby she doth sing.

After Day, the silvery voiced, wakes the world from slumber,
Does she rise from beneath the covers,
And bathes the world in all her radiant beauty.

Be careful what you wish for

I opened my eyes this morning,
Before the sunrise was due,
The first words i heard were cruel,
More than enough to stab you.

Of how imperfect i was,
That I had nothing,
That i was ungrateful,
Of what misery i bring.

Sunrise symbolized new hope,
For me, that was not true,
It just meant the endurance of another day,
Hopeless and without a clue.

The sunset brought beauty,
The death of another day,
The arrival of oblivion,
Keeps the thoughts at bay.

Staring at the ceiling,
Thinking about all my suffering,
Death or life?
On whom shall i cling?

I reached for my meds,
Too impatient to count,
Popped them all in,
Never took the side affects into account.

I turn over in frustration,
Then everything started to spin,
I heard her banging on the door,
Raging on like she's always been.

I closed my eyes,
And the mask melts away,
I start to lose consciousness,
This time, only my body will stay.

A peaceful death,
Thats all i ever wanted,
To slip away in my sleep,
Free from being taunted.

Dearly Beloved

My perspective is changing,
Greys turns to white,
Wilted roses become potpourri,
Dark skies admit patches of light.

Though not much,
Its the beginning,
Of something much more,
Even the birds are singing.

My guardian angel,
Wrapped his wings around me,
He washed away the surrounding pain,
To my locked heart, did he have the key.

In his embrace,
I shall stay,
Till the end of the world,
I dare say.

Vowing never to leave,
To keep me safe,
To love me always,
Till the end of my days.

I look up at those eyes,
Full of hope and light,
I can't help but feel the same,
And let my heart take flight.

A mere mortal,
Thats all i am,
But if there is anything he needs of me,
I'll do everything i can.

I'll protect that smile,
If its the last thing i do,
Since he'd done so much for me,
Its the least I could possibly do.

I've said it before,
And i'll say it again,
I'm ever grateful to God,
That sent me this man.

I've no idea about the future,
No clue at all,
But what i do know is,
He makes me feel ten feet tall.

Caged

In the corner of a room,
There lay a caged bird,
No matter how it tweeted,
It still lay unheard.

How it flew at the bars,
Pecked, flapped and screeched,
There was no way out,
Forever shall its solitary prisoner, keep.

It looked out from between those bars,
Into a window yonder on,
What did it see?
But freedom, skies and dawn.

Something it can never have,
You can see but never touch,
Or experience or even feel,
On the metal rod, did the bird clutch.

The cage was built around the bird,
There IS no door,
If this bird was immortal,
Imagine the hurt it bore.
